Microsoft Excel: Functions - IF
The IF function is a great time saver. You might be looking at a spreadsheet and, based on the information already in the sheet, you might be deciding what to type into a cell.
For example, if you have target and actual sales data for sales people, you might be saying whether they get a bonus, based on exceeding their target. The question would be have the exceeded their target, the answer would be Yes or No.
You can use nested IFs when there are more than two outcomes. For example, is a customer over their credit limit, on their credit limit, or below their credit limit.
